Tis the season for giving

Tis the season to be giving! Here at Fpweb.net we certainly have a hard time choosing our local St. Louis charities to donate our time and money to, but this holiday season one managed to stand out above the others – The Saint Louis Crisis Nursery.

The St. Louis Crisis Nursery

In the past couple weeks we have learned so much about this organization we couldn’t help but put a big spotlight right on it! If you have the means please take the time to donate or stop by one of the multiple locations of the St. Louis Crisis Nursery.

Gifts for the St. Louis Crisis Nursery The importance of innocence and joy this holiday season
All of us at Fpweb.net are immensely blessed with a safe, loving home – and many were lucky enough to have a childhood filled with gifts under the tree around the holidays. This is not necessarily the case for many of the youngsters seeking shelter at the crisis nursery. This year, our team had a blast going shopping for fun toys for the kids to enjoy. Picking out these toys evoked that feeling of Christmas Joy that many of us remembered having as a kid – and it was truly a blessing knowing that these kids would be able to experience a similar joy this Christmas.

More information – how you can help: A quick rundown on SLCN – Founded in 1986, the SLCN has become a cornerstone in the fight against child abuse and neglect. In addition to the direct care of children, the nursery gives ongoing support and follow-up care to families and serves as a child/family advocate within the often-inept social services system.  The wonderful team at SLCN is committed to preventing child abuse and neglect by providing short-term emergency shelter for children – birth through age twelve – whose families are faced with emergencies or are in a general state of crisis.

Recently, I visited their downtown St. Louis location. The employees stressed the need for donations year round, as many organizations are flooded with donations this time of year. Come April, they said, they are back down to the bare bones again.

Working with SLCN has been such a great and uplifting experience the last couple weeks and I’m sure they will be hearing from their friends at Fpweb.net again soon.  Please contact SLCN for more information on how you can get involved with SLCN year round.

Best wishes and happy holidays to you and your family!
