Exchange and SharePoint 2010: The Dynamic Duo
The long wait for Microsoft 2010 application hosting services is finally over. Fpweb.net is excited to offer Exchange 2010 to our fantastic customers starting this December. SharePoint 2010 is also on its way, arriving for hosted beta in February. When these two team up (SharePoint and Exchange), sit back and watch the fireworks.
They’re practically made for each other. Exchange 2010 and SharePoint 2010 integrate tightly with one another, resulting in a cost saving blend of on-premise and hosted solutions. This is great for folks with certain hosting compliance or regulatory requirements within one technology, but can still use the power of Fpweb.net hosting to save big dollars and refocus their IT team. Federated Active Directory (AD) integration and secure Virtual Private Networks (VPN) will let your private cloud connect and communicate with the Fpweb.net cloud.
Let’s hear it for Browser neutrality!
Finally, you can use Exchange or SharePoint 2010 with Safari (I am using it with both right now), Firefox (yep) as well as good old Internet Explorer. Firefox and Mac users will no longer be the red-headed step children of Exchange and SharePoint in 2010, a relief to those like me who wander back and forth between Macs and PCs these days.
Good news for our small business customers
Starting in December, we will be offering a heck of a deal on our new Exchange + SharePoint (WSS) bundles. By combining these two services, you’ll dominate office efficiency and save more money hosting with Fpweb.net. Add even more integrated services like hosted CRM or Microsoft Project and your wallet gets even fuller of cash you’ll save.
Plus, with the release of SharePoint 2010 for public consumption in June, we know our small business customers will benefit from the new 2010 features like Business Intelligence, improved search, SharePoint “MySites” and external data connectors. No need to jump to hosted MOSS (soon to be “SharePoint Server”); you can sign up for just a few users with SharePoint 2010 Foundation.
So have you hung your SharePoint stocking yet? Better get crackin’. Rumor has it the Fpweb.net elves are wrapping up the hosted SharePoint Apps in time for delivery by good St. Nick. What’s on your Christmas list?
